THE GAMES:
Savannah State volleyball returns to Willcox-Wiley this weekend after two road games. The Lady Tigers earned a 3-1 win over Fort Valley and fell to The Citadel 0-3 in the two road matches.

The Lady Tigers enter the weekend's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matches looking for their first conference win of the season. SSU is 4-16 overall and 0-3 in the MEAC. SSU fell to Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M and South Carolina State in the opening MEAC games of the season.

They will get some help this weekend from the return of two key players. Junior Justice Dilworth comes back after missing four games due to injury. Sophomore Gabrielle Nathaniel returns after missing the last game due to a family emergency.

Dilworth leads the Lady Tigers in kills (106), and is second on the team in digs (98). Nathaniel is third on the team in kills (86), but leads the team in blocks (19).

SSU has gotten a lot of help from new faces this year. Freshman Zariya Thomas is second on the team in kills (98), and freshman Autumn Session is second in blocks (18). Graduate student Olivia Wasdin, a libero, has 84 digs this season, and alongside freshman Elexius Harris, leads the team in service aces (13).

The Lady Tigers have added two new players since the beginning of the season. Sophomore outside hitter Dominque Green joined this past week, and sophomore outside hitter, and Savannah native, Jademone Jones joined the program a few weeks ago.

North Carolina Central enters Friday's match looking for their first win of the season. They are 0-20 overall and 0-3 in MEAC play. They are led in kills by Kelsey Murphy (159) and Da'sha Brown (116).

The Lady Tigers broke a 91-match losing streak in the final game of the 2013 season with a 3-1 win over North Carolina Central. It was the last match up between the two programs. (Read about it here).

North Carolina A&T State is 1-18 overall this season and 1-2 in MEAC play. They garnered their lone win of the season against North Carolina Central. They are led in kills by Brooke Stamnes (152), and Aleena McDaniel (132). The Lady Aggies beat SSU 3-0 in the team's last matchup in the second to last game of SSU's 2013 season. DIG PINK!
The Friday match against North Carolina Central will be the annual Dig Pink match. The Lady Tigers will wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
