THE GAMES:
Savannah State enters their final weekend of home games in search of their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win.

They face the MEAC Southern Division's two historically best teams in Bethune-Cookman on Friday and Florida A&M on Sunday.

The Lady Tigers fell to both teams earlier this season. (Read more about it here)

SSU is 4-20 on the season, 0-5 in MEAC play, and 3-5 at home. Friday's match opens the final four-game home stand for the Lady Tigers. After the two MEAC games, SSU closes out home play in the 2014 season with two mid-week, nonconference games against The Citadel and Mercer, on Oct. 28 an 29, respectively.

The Lady Tigers are led by junior Justice Dilworth and freshman Zariya Thomas. Dilworth is registering 2.21 kills per set with 135 on the season. Thomas is averaging 1.63 a game with 114 on the season.

On defense, SSU is led by Gabrielle Nathaniel and Autumn Session in blocks; each has 24. In digs, Alexis Washington leads with 171, averaging 2.31 a set. Dilworth trails Washington with 119 digs on the season, averaging 1.95 per set.

Bethune-Cookman finished the last two years with a 5-5 conference record, making the MEAC Conference Tournament both years.

Cookman is 6-17 overall this season, 4-1 in the MEAC, and 4-3 on the road. They are led by Rhea Simon, who is averaging 2.94 kills per set. On defense, the Wildcats are led by Normarie Rolon in digs, averaging 3.23 a set.

Florida A&M won the MEAC Southern Division title in 2013, finishing in second overall to MEAC Northern Division team Hampton University. In 2012, FAMU breezed through the conference with a 10-0 record.

The Rattlers are 7-13 on the season, 5-0 in conference play, and 0-6 on the road. They are led by Pamela Soriano (4.38 kills per set) on offense. On defense, Joanie Del Castillo leads in digs, averaging 4.01 a set.
