Quick Notes:

· The Tigers' loss to Hampton on Saturday snapped a 5-game win streak and 3-game home streak for SSU. The Tigers finished last season 11-3 at home.

· SSU has dropped four in a row to the Spartans dating back to the 2004-05 season.

· SSU is currently leading the conference with a 5-1 record. N.C. Central and Morgan State are both a half game behind with 4-1 records. Norfolk State sits at fourth with a 5-2 record.

· NSU got its second conference loss of the season falling 61-73 to South Carolina State. The Spartans are led by Malcolm Hawkins who is averaging 16.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

· SSU's Jyles Smith was named the MEAC Player of the Week (1/12) and MEAC Defensive Player of the Week (11/18); Jeremiah Hill received Newcomer of the Week honors for the week ending 1/12.
