· This will be the second consecutive year the Tigers will travel to face Howard in Washington, D.C..Last season SSU defeated Howard 52-42.

· SSU's win over Coppin snapped an eight-game road losing streak this season also increased the Tigers winning streak to two games... Matching the most consecutive wins so far this season.

· Jyles Smith's 20 rebounds against Coppin is a career high and set a new SSU Division I single game record. His previous high was 16 rebounds on November 14, 2013 over Florida National.

· The Bison are on a 9-day layover since its last game. Their last game was a 50-60 loss on January 4 at the College of Charleston.

· Jyles Smith was named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending 11/17.

· In his 9th season, head coach Horace Broadnax is SSU's second longest tenured basketball coach. He is also 3rd in wins with 109.
