Game Central Volleyball: ISTAP Collegiate Cup Hosted By Alabama State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Savannah State volleyball team makes the trek across Georgia to Alabama for their third tournament of the 2013 season. The ISTAP Collegiate Cup, hosted by Alabama State includes Jacksonville State, New Orleans, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and host Alabama State.

The Lady Tigers are still in search of their first match win of the 2013 campaign after falling in the first eight games. Freshman Gabrielle Nathaniel leads the team in kills (32). Senior Bryana Gadis leads SSU in service aces (5), and has recorded 31 kills and 50 digs. Freshman Alexis Washington leads in digs (64), while sophomore Christian Lyle leads in blocks (12).

This is the 28^th season of volleyball at Savannah State. Interim head coach Jolanta Graham enters her first full year at the helm. Graham took over midway through the 2012 season. The Lady Tigers are a 10 person squad this year with six returners and four newcomers.
