Volleyball Falls To North Carolina A&T State

SAVANNAH, Ga. – In their second to last match of the regular season, the Savannah State volleyball squad dropped a 0-3 (19-25, 14-25, 14-25) decision to North Carolina A&T State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match Friday evening in Willcox-Wiley Gymnasium.

SSU sophomore Bianca Brochu led the Lady Tigers with six kills and five digs. Christian Lyle added five kills and two blocks. Justice Dilworth and Bryana Gadis each added four kills apiece. Alexis Washington led SSU on defense with 12 digs.

N.C. A&T's Te'Borah Hawkins led the field with eight kills, while Jillian Nobles added seven kills. Aleena McDaniel and Brooke Stamnes led the defense with 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

SSU falls to 0-29 and 0-9 on the season, while the Lady Aggies improve to 7-22 and 6-3.

The Lady Tigers play their final home game of the regular season on Sunday, November 10 against MEAC foe, North Carolina Central. First serve is set for 1 p.m.

The final home game will also be Senior Day. Three seniors, Gadis, Ashia Williams and Bridgette Stephens, will be honored in pregame ceremonies
