Volleyball Concludes Five-Game Road Stretch

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Savannah State volleyball team closed out a five-game road stretch with an 0-3 loss to The Citadel, Tuesday evening, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Savannah State fell in straight sets, 14-25, 12-25 and 17-25. The Citadel broke a six game losing streak with Tuesday's win. Their last win was against SSU on September 24 in Savannah.

Christian Lyle led the Lady Tigers in the loss with eight kills (.150 percentage), and two blocks. Alexis Washington led the team on defense with 15 digs.

Bianca Brochu continues to lead the team overall, with 97 kills. Washington leads the team in digs with 158. Senior Bryana Gadis has 95 kills and 137 digs overall. SSU's primary setter, freshman Caitlynn Masoe leads the team, assisting on 346 kills.

Ise D'Angelo and Bailey Kernodle led the Bulldogs with seven kills each. Rachel Keefer led in digs with 10. The team had a .244 team hitting percentage in the win.

SSU falls to 0-23 overall, while The Citadel improved to 5-17.

Savannah State returns to home court on Sunday, October 20, to face Alabama State in a nonconference match. First serve in Willcox-Wiley is set for 1 p.m.
