THE GAMES:
 The Lady Tigers continue a five game road stretch with a visit to North Carolina this weekend for two key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matches.
 
Friday, SSU visits Durham, N.C. to face North Carolina Central. The Lady Tigers conclude the weekend with a Sunday match against North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C. SSU is still winless in the 2013 campaign, entering the weekend with a 0-20 overall record and an 0-3 conference record.
 
Three key sophomores have stepped up to lead the Lady Tigers this year. Bianca Brochu leads the team with 85 kills (1.39 per game). Christian Lyle leads the team in blocks (32) and is third on the team in kills (76).
 
Justice Dilworth led the Lady Tigers last weekend in two games. Dilworth has 71 kills overall, averaging 1.34 per game.
 
Leading the team on defense is senior Bryana Gadis and freshman Alexis Washington, Gadis is second on the team in kills (83), and tied for the lead in digs with 125. Washington also has 125 digs and after returning from an injury as stepped up as the Lady Tigers primary Libero.
 
Over midway through the season, Florida A&M is leading the MEAC Southern Division with a 4-0 record. Bethune-Cookman is close behind with a 3-1 record. In the north, Hampton is dominating with a 4-0 record, followed by Howard and Norfolk State, each with 2-1 records.
 
This is the 28th season of volleyball at Savannah State. Interim head coach Jolanta Graham enters her first full year at the helm. Graham took over midway through the 2012 season. The Lady Tigers are a 10 person squad this year with six returners and four newcomers.

INJURY REPORT:
Freshman Gabrielle Nathaniel will miss this weekend's games due to an undisclosed injury. Nathaniel is not scheduled to return this year.  

SCOUTING REPORT VERSUS NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL:
SSU vs. N.C. Central is a battle for the season's first win. The Lady Eagles carry the same record (0-20, 0-3) as SSU into Friday's game.  

The Lady Eagles are led by Da'sha Brown who has 154 kills, averaging 2.41 kills per game. Brown is second on the team in digs with 123, averaging 1.92 digs per game. Kalin Russell is second on the team in kills (137) and leads in blocks (49). Defensively, Kelsey Murphy leads the team with 148 digs.

SCOUTING REPORT VERSUS NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE:
The Lady Aggies will host their first home MEAC game of the season on Sunday. They have losses to Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M on the road so far this year. NCAT picked up their only conference win against neighbor N.C. Central. The Lady Aggies won a four set match with the Lady Eagles, 3-1.

Overall, NCAT is 2-18 on the season and 1-2 in MEAC play. They are 1-5 at home.  

They are led by Aleena McDaniel on offense. She leads the team in kills (169), averaging 2.56 per game. She is second on the team in digs with 152.

Defensively, NCAT is led by Ashley Johnson, who has 252 digs (3.82 per game). Brooke Stamnes is another key player for the Lady Aggies. She has 153 kills (2.39 per game), and 133 digs (2.08 per game).
