DURHAM, N.C. – The Savannah State volleyball team concluded the 2012 campaign Sunday, falling to North Carolina Central in three sets in Durham, North Carolina.
The Lady Tigers finish the 2012 season 0-34 and 0-10 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. North Carolina Central improved to 8-21 and 6-4.
Jasmine Waite led the Lady Tigers with four kills. Senior
Kaneisha Hamilton led SSU in digs with six.
In the opening set, the Lady Eagles jumped out to an 8-3 lead early behind several SSU errors. The Lady Tigers struggled as North Carolina Central extended their lead to 17-7 behind several kills. Later, out of a timeout the Lady Eagles took the first set 25-10 on an SSU error and a N.C. Central kill.
SSU struggled in the final two sets as the Lady Eagles sealed up a 3-0 match win, with 25-8, and 25-9 set wins.
Bryana Gadis led the team in kills with 154 for the season, followed by Waite with 139.
Bridgette Stephens led the team in digs with 190, followed by Hamilton with a 179.
