Savannah State University will now open its volleyball season at The Citadel Tournament in Charleston, South Carolina on Friday, August 26. SSU was set to play at Hampton's Tiny Laster Memorial Tournament, but it was cancelled due to the expectancy of Hurricane Irene.

Three teams will participate in the tournament including; The Citadel, Bethune Cookman and Savannah State.

SSU will play two games on Friday beginning with a matchup against The Citadel at 1 p.m. and then in their final match against Bethune Cookman at 3 p.m. Both matches will be played at McAlister Field House.

SSU's next match will be at the Indiana State Tournament on September 3.
