Savannah, Ga.—The Lady Tigers volleyball team was defeated 3-1 (25-21, 12-25, 21-25, 21-25) by the Lady Panthers of Clafin University on Thursday, September 23 at Sol C. Johnson high school. 

The Lady Tigers started the game with power hits earning them a 25-21 win during the first match of the evening. But SSU was unable to hold Clafin's strong defense and fell 12- 25 in the second match, 21-25 in the third and 21-25 in the final game. 

Lady Tiger Ashlee Butler had a strong presence on the court with game highs in digs( 10) and assists (37). SSU's Kaneisha Hamilton also had the game high of 10 digs, and Jennifer Lowe dominated the game in kills with 13.

Claflin recorded a total of 10 team blocks, and Lady Panthers Deisha Rivers and Lauren Calvin had team highs of nine digs each. 

Savannah State will return to Sol C. Johnson on Saturday, September 25 to play North Carolina A&T at 1:00 p.m.
