Daytona Beach, Fla.-- Savannah State volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to the Lady Wildcats of Bethune Cookman and the Lady Friars of Providence College on September 17 at the Bethune Cookman's Daytona Beach Bash Tournament.
In the first match against BCU the Lady Tigers won the first game 26-24, but fell 14- 25 in the second match, 14-25 in the third, and 12-25 in the final game.
SSU's Kaneisha Hamilton and Jennifer Lowe recorded a team high of nine digs each while Keandra Lewis led the team in kills with seven.
Lady Wildcat Linda Nwabuko had the game high of 11 kills and Jacqueline Woodyear dominated the game with 16 digs.
In SSU's second match, Providence College defeated the Lady Tigers 3-0 (19-25, 6-25, 16-25).
Lady Tiger Kaneisha Hamilton was aggressive on the court, registering the game high of 16 digs. Teammates Bryana Gadis recorded a team high of seven kills and setter Ashlee Butler made seven assists.
Savannah State's Keandra Lewis and Kaneisha Hamilton were named to the All Tournament Team by voting of the head coaches of participating schools.
Lewis and Hamilton were joined by Providence's Lauren Fletcher, and Lauren Hendel along with Bethune Cookman's Linda Nwabuko, and Kaiyana Johnson.
The Lady Tigers will return home to play Claflin University on September 23 at 7:00 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
