SAVANNAH, Ga.- Concensus Draft Services recently released their 2009 All-HBCU Football Team and Savannah State University wide receiver Deleon Hollinger was listed as honorable mention.

“Deleon has done an outstanding job since we arrived here,” said SSU head football coach Robby Wells. “He is a great player, student and a true team leader.”

Last season, the 5-11, 184 senior from Miami, Florida played in 10 games and led all SSU wide receivers in catches (45), yards (622) and touchdowns (4). He also led the team with a 62.2 receiving yards per game average.

For his career, Hollinger has caught 85 passes for 1,131 yards and nine touchdowns.

“Deleon has matured nicely since we arrived at Savannah State and well deserving of this honor,” added Wells. “We look forward to seeing great things out of him this season.”
