Alisha Nelson had a game-high eight rebounds for SSU.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 27-3 lead but Savannah State rallied with a 11-2 run to make the score 29-14 with 7:36 remaining.
UGA used a 12-4 rally to go ahead 41-18 with 2:29 left and took a 46-26 lead into the half.
Savannah State pulled within 17 early in the second half but could not get any closer.
UGA managed a 22-4 run midway in the half to grab their largest lead of the contest at 78-41 with 2:02 on the clock.
Jasmine Hassell came off the bench to lead Georgia with 13 points and seven rebounds.
UGA, which had 50 rebounds in their previous game against Clemson, was held to 36 by the Lady Tigers.
Georgia shot 45.3 percent from the floor while SSU shot 40.9 percent.
Savannah State made 28 turnovers and fell to 8-8.
