2008-09: Nelson played in 31 scheduled games for the Lady Tigers during her freshman year. She led the team in rebounds averaging 5.3 per game and was first in blocks with 46. Nelson recorded a total of 21 steals, and 104 points for SSU.
2009-10: Nelson started in 29 out of 30 games for the Lady Tigers and averaged 30 minutes per game. She led the team in rebounds averaging of 7.6 per game, and in blocks with 91. Nelson was second on the team in field-goals making 58 out of 123 and earning a .472 FG percentage. Nelson recorded 27 assists, 27 steals and a total of 147 points for the Lady Tigers.
2010-11: Nelson started in 26 games for the Lady Tigers and averaged 28.2 minutes a game. She recorded 101 points and led the team in blocks with 48 and in rebounds 161.
