ORANGEBURG, SC- South Carolina State placed three players in double figures as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Savannah State 60-50. 
SCSU led by as many as 20 points in the first half before Savannah State went on a 22-6 run to get within four with 13:03 remaining. 
Savannah State trailed 52-48 with 4:21 left but SCSU pushed their lead to 12 with 1:07 on the clock as Savannah State missed five field goals. 
Crissa Jackson had 13 points for Savannah State and Darice Fountain added 10 while 
Alisha Nelson had 10 rebounds to go with her eight points. 
Raven James had nine points and eight boards. 
SSU out-rebounded the Lady Bulldogs 41 to 34. 
Sophilia Hipps scored a game-high 18 points, seven steals and six assists for SCSU (1-0). Joi Walker scored 12 points and Paris Alston had 10. 
SCSU opened the contest with a 11-1 run. Savannah State did not make their first field goal until the 12:30 mark. 
Leading by 10, the Lady Bulldogs put together a 15-5 run to go ahead by 20 with 1:25 left in the opening half. 
Savannah State (1-1) out-scored SCSU 29-22 in the second period.
