Billy Hamilton

Billy Hamilton enters his second season as the assistant women’s basketball coach for the Lady Tigers.

Hamilton served as an assistant at Tallahassee Community College in 2008-09 and spent the 2007-08 year as an assistant at Albany State University in Albany, Georgia.

“Billy impressed me with his overall knowledge of player development and evaluating talent,” stated head coach Cedric Baker.

For the past two years, Hamilton has also worked as an assistant and instructor at the Essence Roundball Academy, working AAU girls basketball tournaments and camps. He has also worked as a summer camp counselor at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Albany, GA; a volunteer counselor for alternative students at the Boys and Girls Club in Albany, GA; a volunteer with the Albany (GA) Special Olympics; and a summer camp counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in Marietta, GA.

A 2008 graduate of Albany (GA) State with a bachelor’s degree in recreation health and physical education, Hamilton was a member of the Rams football team for two years as a tight end. Hamilton is the son of Billy Hamilton, Sr. assistant boys basketball coach at Etowah High School in Woodstock, GA and the grandson of Jack “Cy” McClairen, senior associate athletic director at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla. 

Hamilton is single and resides in Savannah, Ga.
