2010: In her freshman year, Hedderly took over the majority of the work load on the mound for the Lady Tigers. She pitched a 10-12 record with a 3.31 ERA. In 148 innings of work she allowed 94 runs (70 earned) on 158 hits with 106 strikeouts. She led the team in all pitching stats. At the plate, Hedderly proved her spot in the lineup, batting a .330 and leading the team in slugging percentage (.532), hits (36), and home runs (5). She recorded five doubles, one triple and 22 RBI.  Hedderly was selected as Co-Freshman of the Year in the 2010 Division I All-Independent.
2011: Hedderly continued to be the Lady Tigers primary pitcher in her sophomore year. She posted a 10-14 record with a 3.62 ERA. In 133.1 innings pitched she allowed 110 runs (69 earned) on 167 hits with 120 strikeouts, again leading the team in pitching stats. On offense, Hedderly led the team in slugging percentage (.644), hits (44), home runs (8), and total bases (76). She batted a .373 with eight doubles and 28 RBI, starting in all 40 games for SSU.
2012: Hedderly continued her pitching prowess, posting her first winning record, 18-12, with a career best 1.92 ERA. In 215.0 innings of work she allowed 92 runs (59 earned) on 205 hits. At the plate, Hedderly batted a .306 with five doubles, six home runs and 24 RBI.  In SSU’s first year in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Hedderly led the conference in strikeouts with 192. She garnered the MEAC Softball Pitcher of the Week award three times for the weeks ending March 11, April 8, and April 16. She was also awarded MEAC Player of the Week for the week ending May 5. Hedderly was named to the MEAC All-Conference first team.
