2010-11: Kirkland played in 26 games scoring a total of 98 points, averaging 3.8 points per game. She finished second on the team in rebounds (80) and ended the season with a total of 13 steals, 12 blocks, and three assists.

2011-12: Kirkland played in all 30 of SSU’s games and broke several of her own career records. She ended the season second in points and scoring average for the Lady Tigers with 261 points, averaging 8.7 per game. She was also second on the team in field goal attempts (283), field goals made (113), free throws made (35), steals (40), blocked shots (20), rebounds (138),  and rebound average (4.6 per game). Kirkland recorded a career high 18 points in a game against North Carolina A&T on February 27 and a career high 14 rebounds against Morgan State on January 9. She finished the season 14^th in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in field goal percentage (.399).

2012-13 Kirkland played in 15 of the Lady Tigers games racking up 10 blocks and 13 steals off the bench and finished the season with a .370 field goal percentage. Wrestling with injuries during the season, Kirkland played a vital role for the Lady Tigers in a MEAC game against Norfolk State on December 1. She scored 10 points, hitting 5 of 12 field goal attempts.
