SAVANNAH, Ga.- Fort Valley State defeated Savannah State 13-0 on March 29, 2024 at the SSU Softball Field to sweep the three-game series.
The Wildcats used three pitchers to limit SSU to just two hits in the game.
Savannah State did not help themselves, with nine errors.
FVSU scored at least one run in every inning.
The Wildcats scored five times in the first inning and added another one in the top of the second for a 6-0 lead.
In the third inning, FVSU scored three times to increase their lead to 9-0.
A two-run double by Ashtyn Perkins gave Fort Valley State a 11-0 lead in the fourth inning and a two-run home run by Alexia Scott, a Savannah State transfer, in the fifth put the Wildcats ahead 13-0.
Neveah Ford hit a single for SSU in the bottom of the first inning and
LaTaviona Parke hit a double in the fourth.
Kayla Ragins was the losing pitcher.
Alexia Scott had three hits, three RBI and scored twice for the Wildcats (20-12, 14-3 SIAC).
Savannah State (10-22, 6-11 SIAC) will host Allen on April 3 at 1 p.m.
