MOBILE, Ala.- Savannah State closed out the SIAC Roundup #2 with losses to Benedict and Spring Hill on March 24, 2024 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
 
SSU lost to Benedict 1-4 and then fell to Spring Hill 0-7.
 
With the losses, Savannah State still have a winning record in the conference at 9-8 but are 9-10 overall.
 
In the match with Benedict, Amarlia Benn won her #4 singles match 6-1, 6-2 for the Lady Tigers lone victory.
 
Madeleine Anne Nolan lost in the #1 singles 4-6, 4-6 while Padmasree Murugan fell in the #2 singles match 2-6, 6-2, 9-11. In the #3 singles match, Gabrielle Benn lost to her opponent 1-6, 2-6.
 
The team of Gabrielle Benn and Amarlia Benn lost the doubles match 5-7.
 
In the afternoon match with Spring Hill, SSU lost two of the three doubles matches by retirement and lost four of the six singles matches by retirement.
 
Savannah State will return home on March 28 to play Oberlin at 2 p.m.
