At halftime, Savannah State had the lead, although slim. But Lane fired back with a strong fourth quarter—and a full-court press—outscoring the Lady Tigers 21-8.

With 3:13 to play in the fourth quarter, Ta'Quasia Lampkin dumped a ball inside to Amari Heard who sank the layup, lifting the lady Tiger to a 60-58 lead. But on Lane's next possession, Brailyn Tate drove to the basket for a good layup and drew the foul on the way up. Tate missed the free-throw, leaving the game tied at 60.

Lane took a two-point lead with 2:27 to play, but Myasia Jones tied the game yet again, going 2-4 at the charity strip—but missed the game-winning free throws.

With seconds ticking away in regulation, Heard got a rebound, had the ball stripped from her, and wanted a foul but didn't get it.

On the other end, Iitasha Paty went up for a layup, Lampkin fouled her. With 49.8 seconds to play in regulation, Paty missed her first free-throw but made the second to tie the game at 63 and force overtime as both teams missed game-winning shots.

In the first overtime, Lane pushed out to a four-point advantage with 41 seconds to play. But Savannah State wasn't done. Heard hit one-of-two free-throws to make it a three-point game. With 25 seconds ticking away, Jones drained a three-pointer to tie the game at 69 all.

Lane closed out double overtime with a 6-2 run over two minutes for the final three-point victory. Overall, the lead changed hands 22 times in the game and was tied up 14 different times.
