SAVANNAH, Ga. – The new Savannah State women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Lander University, 0-7, on Friday in their 2020 home debut.

In the first position for singles action, Bria Brembry lost to Nelli Lius, 0-6. Maiya Broughton fell to Kylee Ramsey, 0-6, in the second position. In the third, Carlissa Stewart lost 0-6 to Guiliana Gibson. Stella Ekwalla was defeated by Lucia Ric in the fourth position, 6-0. Taityana Pittman fell to Marissa Peterson in the fifth position, 0-6.

Savannah State dropped both doubles matches with Bremby and Broughton falling to Lius and Acco and Stewart and Pittman falling to Peterson and Ric. The Lady Tigers fall to 1-7 on the season while Lander improved to 6-2.

The Lady Tigers return to action on March 7 with a home game against the College of Coastal Georgia. They play a total of three non-conference home games in early March, including Radford (March 13) and Belmont Abbey (March 17). They return to Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action with the second SIAC Round Up on March 26 in Mobile, Alabama.Â
