The Savannah State Lady Tigers finished a two-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road trip last week, where they faced Miles College and Paine College.
They split the two games losing to Miles, 76-57, and defeating Paine, 78-66.Against Miles the Lady Tigers were led by
Le'Andrea Gillis (18 points). Three Lady Tigers put up double-digit points, but not even that was enough to match the top-ranked SIAC West Miles College.
The game was decided in the fourth quarter, where Miles College outscored Savannah State University 25-10 in the final 10 minutes of the game.
In the second game, the Lady Tigers took on Paine College. Both teams entered the game coming off a loss but it was Savannah State who would find a way to come out on top.
The Lady Tigers were led by big scoring nights from both
Azhana Maxwell, who had 25 points, and
Le'Andrea Gillis with 21. Despite being down at the half, Savannah State put together a great second half to pave their way to victory.
