GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (2-13, 0-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to North Carolina A&T State University (2-18, 2-3 MEAC) 7-0 Sunday at Aggie Tennis Complex.
 
The Aggies won the first doubles match at the No. 3 position after Angelica Martinez and Kanishka Chawla defeated freshmen Ekaterina Vorobeva and Shakendra Alston 6-3 and won the doubles point after Fabiana Ramirez and Khalia Powell defeated freshman Muskaan Ranjan and junior Sansriti Ranjan 6-2 at the No. 1 position.

The Lady Tigers did win at the No. 2 doubles position after freshman Sofia Shut'ko and senior Rachida El Kateb defeated Nadia Hilton-Adams and Renata Ruiz Rabadan 6-3.
 
NCAT went up 2-0 after after Ruiz Rabadan defeated Alston 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles position and took a 3-0 lead after Powell defeated Vorobeva 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position.
 
Martinez clinched the match for the Aggies after defeating Muskaan Ranjan 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 3 singles position and took a 5-0 lead after Ramirez defeated Shut'ko 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 2 singles position.
 
The Aggies took a 6-0 lead after Hilton-Adams defeated Sansriti Ranjan 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles position and won the final match at the No. 6 singles position.  Chawla defeated El Kateb 6-2 in the first set, but El Kateb battled back to defeat Chawla 7-5 in the second set to force a tiebreaker.  Chawla defeated El Kateb 10-7 in the tiebreaker to complete the sweep for the Aggies.
 
The Lady Tigers finish the four match roadstand with a match against North Carolina Central University at 1 p.m. Monday in Durham, N.C., before host Florida A&M University Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Senior Day.
