ATHENS, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (3-16) lost the doubleheader 4-0 in both matches to University of Missouri (13-16) in the season finale at Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
 
In the first match, Ellie Wright of Missouri defeated junior Sansriti Ranjan 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles position to take a 1-0 lead and Missouri took a 2-0 lead after Clare Raley defeated senior Rachida El Kateb 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles position.
 
Missouri took a 3-0 lead after Serena Nash defeated freshman Ekaterina Vorobeva 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles position and clinched the match after Taylor Gruber defeated freshman Sofia Shut'ko 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles position.
 
Amiona Ismail defeated freshman Muskaan Ranjan 7-5 in the first set and the second set didn't start because the match was called and Ally Noback defeated freshman Shakendra Alston 6-3, but Alston had a 2-1 lead in the second set when the match was called.  Doubles matches weren't played because Missouri had clinched the match.
 
In the second match of the day, Raley defeated Alston 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 singles position to give Missouri a 1-0 lead and took a 2-0 lead after Ismail defeated Sansriti Ranjan 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles position.
 
Missouri took a 3-0 lead after Noback defeated El Kateb 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 5 singles position and clinched the match after Gruber dfeated Shut'ko 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 singles position.
 
Muskaan Ranjan defeated Wright 6-2 in the first set, but was trailing 3-0 in the second set when the match was called, while Middlebrooks defeated Vorobeva 6-4 in the first set and was up 2-0 in the second set when the match was called.  The doubles matches weren't played again because Missouri had clinched the match.
 
The doubleheader against Missouri ends the season for the women's tennis team.  But the three wins this season is the most 2015 and had a two-match winning streak this season.
