Kaylee Allen and
Donasja Scott combined for 34 points as the Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-11, 0-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to Morgan State University (10-6, 3-0 MEAC) 73-67 Monday in Hill Field House to end an eight-game roadstand.
Allen led the team with 19 points and with eight rebounds, while adding two steals and shooting 6-for-14 from the floor, while Scott added 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Heniaya Moton added 10 points, three assists and five steals, while freshman center
Alexxus Sowell added nine points and six rebounds and freshman guard
Jazmine Bartlett added seven points and two assists.
Morgan State scored eight of the first 12 points of the game to take a four-point lead, 8-4, with 7:20 remaining in the first quarter, but Savannah State scored 14 of the next 16 points to take an eight-point lead, 18-10, with 2:19 left. The Bears scored the next four points to cut the lead to four points, 18-14, with 15 seconds left, but a Sowell layup with four seconds gave SSU a six-point lead, 20-14, after the first quarter.
Savannah State scored 11 of the first 17 points of the second quarter to increase its lead to 11 points, 31-20, with 4:55 remaining in the quarter, but Morgan State scored 13 of the next 16 points to close within a point, 34-33 with 35 seconds left. A jumper by Sowell pushed the SSU lead to three points, 36-33, heading into halftime.
Morgan State scored the first four points of the third quarter to take a point lead, 37-36, with 8:50 remaining in the quarter and with each team scoring four points to keep the MSU lead at one, 41-40, with 5:47 left, the Bears scored the next seven points to increase their lead to eight points, 48-40, with 2:26 remaining. Savannah State scored nine of the next 12 points to cut the lead to two points, but a three-pointer by MSU at the buzzer gave the Bears a five-point lead, 54-49, after the third quarter.
MSU scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to increase its lead to nine points, 58-49, with 9:10 remaining in the quarter, but the Lady Tigers scored seven of the next nine points to cut the lead to four points, 60-56, with 5:59 left. Morgan State scored eight of the next 11 points to increase the lead back to nine points, 68-60, with 3:18 remaining, but Savannah State scored the next four points to cut the lead to four points, 68-64, with 1:18 left. Morgan State outscored SSU 5-3 during the rest of the game for the six point win.
The Bears were led by Braennan Farrar with 16 points and Tykyrah Williams with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Jihayah Chavis, Lexus Spears and Adre'onia Coleman each added 11 points.
The Lady Tigers return home for one of two four game homestands starting with University of Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena for SSU's MEAC home opener.
