SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University softball junior pitcher Amanda Hallman was named the College Sports Madness Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced by College Sports Madness.
 
Hallman was named the MEAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday for the fourth time this season.
 
Hallman went 2-0 with a 0.00 earned run average giving up three unearned runs on nine hits with 12 strikeouts against North Carolina A&T State University this past weekend as the Lady Tigers won the series with a 6-1 win in game one, a 7-3 loss in game two and a 9-2 win in game three. 
 
The Kennesaw, Ga., native went the distance in game one allowing one unearned run on two hits with five strikeouts and one walk and went the distance in game two allowing two unearned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts.
 
On the season, Hallman leads the team with a 12-9 record and has a 3.89 ERA, which ranks sixth in the MEAC, giving up 74 earned runs on 146 hits in 133.0 innings pitched with 106 strikeouts, which ranks fourth in the conference, while opponents are batting .266, which ranks fifth in the conference.
 
The Lady Tigers conclude their 10-game homestand with a doubleheader against in-state rival Georgia Southern on Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. at the Lady Tiger Softball Field.
