Darice Fountaine scored 20 points and
Crissa Jackson added 15 as Savannah State defeated Southeastern Louisiana 60-50 in Tiger Arena.
The win improves SSU to 3-2 while Southeastern falls to 1-3.
Fountaine added seven rebounds and three steals while Jackson had five assists and hit 9-of-11 free throw attempts.
Savannah State shot 52.4 percent from the floor in the first half as they jumped out to a 23-8 lead with 5:59 on the clock. Southeastern closed the gap to 11 but a jumper by Fountaine and two free throws by Jackson sent SSU into the locker room with a 29-14 advantage.
Southeastern was able to slice their deficit to nine points early in the second half thanks to a layup, free throw and 3-pointer by Gabrielle George.
SSU would answer with a 11-2 run to push their lead to 40-22 with 15:23 remaining.
Trailing by 15 with eight and a half minutes left, Southeastern put together a 13-4 run to make the score 50-44 with 2:30 showing on the clock but the Lady Tigers responded with a 8-1 to go ahead by 13.
Quantae Thomas had 11 points for Southeastern Louisana and Kelli Jenkins scored 10 points.
Southeastern shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the second period as they out-scored SSU 36-31 in the second half.
