Lee Leads UGA Past Savannah State

ATHENS, Ga.- Jasmine Lee came off the bench to grab 11 rebounds and score 10 points to help Georgia defeat Savannah State 74-28 at Stegeman Coliseum.

The crowd of 3,077 saw the Bulldogs outscore SSU in the paint 42-8.

UGA scored nine unanswered points early as the Bulldogs raced out to a 27-8 lead with 7:
54 left in the half. The Bulldogs (11-6) closed the half with a 16-2 spurt and led 43-12 at intermission.

SSU was limited to shoot 23.8 percent in the opening period while Georgia shot 40 percent from the floor.

UGA scored the first 10 points of the second half to expand their advantage to 53-12 with 14:15 remaining.

Two 3-pointers from Crissa Jackson and a layup by Lashara Smith pulled SSU as close as 37 but the Bulldogs answered with a 11-1 run to grab a 68-21 lead with just over five minutes remaining.

SSU was held without a field goal the final 3:30.

Jackson led SSU (3-14) with eight points while Courtney Long added six.

Angel Robinson led UGA with 18 points.

Georgia out-rebounded the Lady Tigers 57 to 28.
