Curtis P. Harris (Football) – A native of Columbus, Georgia, he played football from 1948 – 1952. In 1950 he was named to the Pittsburgh Courier’s All – America second team in football, and was All SEAC in football in 1950 - 1951 and 1951 - 1952. He was a triple threat who played receiver, punter, and was an excellent blocker as a lineman. Harris led the nation’s small colleges in punting during the 1951 football season. In 1950, he was one of the top five collegiate milers in America. He finished third in the invitational Glenn Cunningham mile at the Kansas Relays in the 1950s. Invitations to the Kansas Relays were extended to the top five collegiate milers in America, and Harris was All SEAC (Southeastern Athletic Conference) in track for four years. In addition to football, he played guard on the basketball team.
