HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (0-17) fell to the George Mason University (8-4) Thursday at Motor Coach Resort.
Senior
Sandy Lochu was the only Lady Tiger to win a set. Lochu fell to Sydney Green 6-1 in the first set, but bounced back with a 6-4 win in the second set, but fell 1-0 (5) in the final set at the No. 1 singles position, while junior
Rachida El Kateb fell to Morgan Yang 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 2 singles position and freshman
Lili-Morgan Pastore fell to Scarlett Walston 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 singles position.
Senior
Bria Burrows fell to Rachel Lee 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4 singles position, while senior
Jennyfer Vivas fell to Nicole Haigwood 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5 singles position.
George Mason won the doubles point after winning at the No. 3 doubles position by default, while GMU's doubles team of Green and Lee defeated SSU doubles duo of Lochu and Pastore 7-6 (1) at the No. 1 doubles position and GMU's doubles duo of Walston and Olivia Lacy-Thompson defeated SSU's doubles team of Burrows and El Kateb 6-0 at the No. 2 doubles position.
The Lady Tigers take a week off before traveling to Tallahassee, Fla., for two matches with Florida A&M University on Saturday, March 25 at 9 a.m. and Southern University on Sunday, March 26 at 9 a.m.
