LaRon James set the school record in the long jump, while junior
Kourtney Sizemore set the school record in the pole vault at the Buccaneer Invitational Friday and Saturday.
James won the long jump with a jump of 7.41 meters (24-3.75) beating his previous best of 7.40 meters (24-3.5) set at the Liberty Kickoff on Jan. 21, while Sizemore finished 11
th in the pole vault with a distance of 3.05 meters (10-0) beating
Alysia Potts best of 3.04 meters (9-9.75) set in last year's Mid-Eastern Athletic Indoor Championship on Feb. 12.
The men's track team recorded eight top-15 finishes with sophomore
Nigel Brown winning the 200-meter dash preliminary round with a time of 21.61 and won the final round with a time of 21.67, while senior
Justin Leggett finished seventh in the preliminary round with a time of 22.01 and finished fifth in the finals with a time of 22.20.
Leggett finished ninth in the 60-meter dash preliminary round with a time of 6.96 and finished 12
th in the semifinals with a time of 6.96, while Brown finished ninth in the 400-meter dash preliminary round with a time of 49.73, followed by sophomore
Morgan Ellis-Foster's 11
th place finish with a time of 50.02 and freshman
Javontee Brice's 15
th place finish with a time of 50.40.

Abbas Abbkar won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.41, while Savannah State's 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore
Malik Franklin, sophomore
Donterious Copeland, Ellis-Foster and Brown won the event with a time of 3:18.96, nearly missing on setting a school-record of 3:18.17.
The men's field team recorded four additional top-six finishes. Franklin finished won the triple jump with a jump of 15.49 meters (50-10), nearly missing out on a school-record of 15.50 meters (50-11.25), and finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 7.28 meters (23-10.75). James finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 14.61 meters (47-11.25), followed by Copeland's sixth place finish with a jump of 14.26 meters (16-9.5).
The women's track team recorded four top-15 finishes with Savannah State's 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Tyneshia Quarterman, freshman
Jada Morgan, freshman
Cayla Williams and freshman
Danielle Derricho finished fourth with a time of 3:59.50, while Morgan finished 19
th in the 60-meter dash preliminary round with a time of 8.04 and finished 13
th in the 200-meter dash preliminary round with a time of 25.77 and Quarterman finished 12
th with a time of 25.76.
The women's field team recorded five additional top-15 finishes with junior

th place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.23 meters (17-2), followed by junior
Ravyn Mike's 15
th place finish with a jump of 5.20 meters (18-0.75). Freshman
Bryshea Jackson finished ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.18 meters (36-8.25), followed by Elmore's 15
th place finish with a jump of 10.84 meters (35-6.75).
