Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Savannah State University Cheerleading team will compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cheerleading Championship, Sunday, March 4 at Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The competition is part of the 2012 MEAC championship tournament and kicks off the week of tournament action. The Savannah State Blue and Orange squads will combine as one team for the competition.
Head coach
Kellie Fletcher, in her second year, comes to SSU from CRB Consulting Engineers in Cary, North Carolina where she was employed since 2007 as a CAD Designer/Drafter.
A 2007 North Carolina A&T State University graduate with a bachelor of science degree in Graphic Communications Systems and Technological Studies (CADD), Fletcher was a member of the Aggies cheerleader squad from 2003-07. The Fort Bragg, N.C. native served as a Cheer Camp Instructor for Champion Cheerleading Camps in Raleigh, N.C. from 2003-2006.
Morgan State University won 2011's MEAC Cheerleading Championship.
