Justin Babb,
Demetrius Edwards,
LaDarien Redfield and
Derek Williams have been named to the Phil Steele Magazine 2010 Preseason All-Independent Football Team.
Babb, a running back and Edwards, a offensive lineman, were named to the first team offense. Redfield, a defensive lineman was named to the first team defense and Williams, a kicker was named to the special teams first team.
Babb had 1,035 all-purpose yards last season. The Atlanta native ran for 804 yards and six touchdowns and had 231 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Edwards, a native of Athens, Georgia, is expected to anchor the SSU offensive line which returns four starters.
A native of Augusta, Georgia, Redfield had 41 tackles, four sacks and 9.5 tackles for losses last year.
Williams will return for his junior season after a solid 2009 campaign. The Toronto, Canada native has not missed an extra point attempt since September 2008 and was 23-of-23 last year.
