GAINESVILLE, Fla.-
Amara Jones set a new school record in the women's 400m while the Savannah State track & field team participated in the 66th Pepsi Florida Relays held April 2 and 3 at Percy Beard Track.
Jones had a time of 54.62. She won her heat and finished 12th overall.
Shawn Sovnenir placed 11th in the men's triple jump with a leap of 14.86m. Sovnenir was third in his heat. His leap was a personal record and was good enough to place him second all-time among Savannah State triple jumpers.
The women's 4x100m relay team had a season best time of 47.22. The relay team of Aleaha Hordges, Jones,
Kendra Carter and
Mekela Martin won their heat and finished 20th overall.
