Savannah State University Athletics

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- Marcus Stallworth finished second in the men's 60m hurdle with a time of 8.31 to lead Savannah State as the Tigers participated in the 2010 Dick Taylor Carolina Classic held at Eddie Smith Field House.

Shawn Souvenir placed 4th in the men's triple jump with a leap of 45-07.25 and Chaz Price was 8th in the 300m race with a time of 36.02. Deshawn Lee's time of 1:08.72 was good enough for 10th in the men's 500m race.

For the SSU women, Amara Jones was 4th in the 300m race with a run of 40.70. In the triple jump, Amber Hughes was 4th with a jump of 39-02.50 and Sharonda Redfield was 10th with a leap of 36-09.75.

The second day of the meet was canceled due to inclement weather.
