ATLANTA, Ga.- The Savannah State track team participated in the Georgia Tech Invitational held at Griffin Track May 15-16.
For the SSU women, Sharonda Redfield was 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 11.88m. Victoria Burch was 17th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.11. Amara Jones was 17th in the 400m with a time of 56.46 and was 29th in the 200m after being timed at 25.06.
It was a homecoming for Vernon Williams and Ruben Isreal-McBee for the SSU men. Williams hails from Jonesboro, GA while Isreal-McBee is from Lithonia, GA.
Eric Plump placed 13th in the 200m race with a time of 21.67 and Williams was 21st in the 400m with a time of 48.13. Marcus Stallworth placed 23rd in the 400m hurdles with a run of 54.49 and Isreal-McBee's time of 4:24.98 was good enough for 46th in the 1500m.
