Tigers Run Well At Georgia Invitational

ATHENS, Ga.- Marcus Stallworth, Amara Jones and Amber Hughes all had two top 10 finishes at the Georgia Invitational held at Spec Towns Track.
Stallworth was 6th in the men's 400m hurdles (55.11) and 7th in the 110m hurdles (14.91), Jones was 2nd in the women's 400m (59.12) and 10th in the 200m (25.26) and Hughes placed 4th in the triple jump (11.35) and 7th in the long jump (5.09m).
Mekela Martin was 14th in the women's 200m (26.65) and 6th in the 400m (59.12)
Eric Plump placed 9th in the men's 200m (21.52) while Vernon Wiliams was not far behind, finishing 14th with a time of 21.96 . Williams was 5th in the 400m (49.81) and Plump placed 11th in that same race with a time of 51.41. Ruben Isreal-McBee was 10th in the 1500m (4:12.54), Chris Blount was 9th in the long jump (6.48m) and 3rd in the triple jump (14.20m). Shawn Sovnenir was 5th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.80m.
SSU assistant track coach Rephel Martin was 2nd in the men's long jump with a 7.36m leap.
