ORANGEBURG, S.C.- The Savannah State men's golf team finished fourth in the 7th Annual Bulldog Classic hosted by South Carolina State at the Hillcrest Golf Course.

SSU shot a 314 on April 4 but improved to 307 on April 5 for a tow-day score of 621.

The Tigers finished one shot behind third place North Carolina Central who had a 620.

Low medalist for Savannah State was Corey Brown who placed 5th individually. Brown shot a 73 and 74 for a two-day total of 147 which was five strokes behind the tournament leader.

Tripp Walker was tied for 13 with a 154, Jamie Montgomery was 18th with a 158, Riley Baxter was 23rd with a 162 and Ricky Williams finished tied for 26 with a 167.

Houston Baptist won the tournament with a two-round score of 579.

Low medalist for the event was Robert Cacho of South Carolina State who shot 142. 

                                  Savannah State Women Places Third In SCSU Triangler

ORANGEBURG, S.C.- The Savannah State women's golf team placed third in the SCSU Triangler hosted by South Carolina State at the Hillcrest Golf Course.

Hampton won the event with a two-day total of 675.

Savannah State shot 487 in the opening round and improved their score to 479 on day two for a 966 total.

Individually, SSU's golfers finished 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th.

Vonnetta Epps shot 209 followed by Brittany Wilson (240), Lauren Daniels (254) and Brittany Creatien (263).

Iman Ellis of Hampton shot a tournamnet low 160.
