CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Victoria Burch and Chris Blount both has second place finishes at the Charlotte 49er Classic held at the Irwin Bell Track.

Burch had a time of 1:02.79 in the women's 400m hurdles while Blount had a leap of 14.36m in the men's triple jump.

SSU had a total of 12 top 10 finishes at the meet with the women earning six and the men earning six.

Amara Jones was 4th in the women's 400m race with a time of 56.23. Monique Harrison placed 7th in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.49. In the long jump, Amber Hughes finished 5th with a jump of 5.29m while Sharonda Redfield was 12th with a leap of 4.90m. Redfield placed 7th in the triple jump with a jump of 11.16m and Hughes was 9th with a leap of 11.07m.

Eric Plump was 5th in the men's 200m race with a run of 21.95. In the 800m race, Tyrone McCoy was 8th with a run of 1:55.85, Gabriel Davis was 25th with a run of 1:58.83 and Ruben Isreal-Mcbee finished 37th with a time of 2:02.17. McCoy was 30th in the 1500m race with a run of 4:09.48 while McBee placed 42nd with a time of 4:17.64. The men's 4x400m relay team was 6th as they ran a time of 3:20.99.

Jamario Parks was 8th in the long jump with a leap of 6.63m, Blount was 15th with a 6.40m and Darrell McElroy was 18th with a jump of 6.26m. Shawn Souvenir placed 5th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.90m and Parks was 14th with a 12.67m.
