ORANGEBURG, S.C.- The Savannah State men's track team placed sixth at the 38th Annual Robert "Jet" Johnson Bulldog Relays while the SSU women finished ninth. The men had 31 points while the Lady Tigers managed 19. The meet was hosted by South Carolina State University.
Amber Hughes,
Marcus Stallworth and the men's 4x110 shuttle hurdle relay team all had second place finishes for SSU.
Hughes had a leap of 11.15m in the triple jump, Stallworth had a run of 15.26 in the 110m hurdles and the relay team posted a time of 1:07.09.
Sadie Sellow was 6th in the women's 1500m run with a time of 5:16.33,
Victoria Burch was 12th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.25 and 5th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.92. The 4x100m relay team was 11th with a run of 51.40. In the long jump,
Sharonda Redfield was 5th with a jump of 5.12m and Hughes was 11th with a jump of 4.49m.
Eric Plump was 11th in the men's 100m race with a time of 11.17 while
Charles Huggins was 16th with a run of 11.38 and
Jonathan Loadholt was 17th with a time of 11.39. In the 110m hurdles,
Aaron Whitaker placed 9th with a time of 15.84 and
Darrell McElroy was 13th with a time of 16.67. Whitaker was 5th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.58. the 4x100m relay team was 5th with a run of 42.95 and the
4x200m relay team was 4th with a time of 1:31.80. In the long jump, SSU had five to compete.
Jamario Parks (6.26m) was 7th, Chris Blount (6.23m) was 9th, was McElroy (6.16m) 11th, was Huggins (5.81m) 15th and Shawn Sovnenir (5.76m) was 17th.
