SAVANNAH, Ga.- Lashara Smith poured in a game-high 18 points to lead three Savannah
State players in double figures in a 69-65 win over Morris College in Tiger Arena.
It was the last game in Tiger Arena for four Lady Tiger seniors.

With the game tied at 4-4, Morris went on an 8-2 run to grab a 12-6 lead with 14:43
on the clock.
Savannah State was able to rally back and take a 25-21 advantage with 4:29 left in
the first half but the Hornets ended the first period with a 12-2 run as they held
SSU without a field goal the final 4:29 of the half.
The crowd of 661 saw Morris lead 33-27 at intermission.
The visitors from Sumter, South Carolina led by five early in the second half before
Savannah State woke up to tie the game and eventually take a 46-42 lead with 9:34
left.
With the scored knotted at 48, SSU went on a 14-5 spurt to go ahead by nine with
2:04 remaining in the game.
Savannah State led 68-59 with 21 seconds on the clock but back-to-back 3-pointers by
the Hornets' Tiffany Johnson pulled Morris within four but they could get no
closer.
SSU shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the second half.
Courtney Long added 15 points for SSU (8-20) while
Crissa Jackson chipped in 13 and
dished out seven assists. Smith also had a team-high eight assists.
Morris (12-16) was led by Jennifer Quinn who had 14 points.
The Hornets made 31 turnovers but were stil able to out-rebound SSU 46 to 37.
The contest was a homecoming for Savannah, GA natives Jamecia Ready and Shaniqua
Campbell. Both are graduates of Groves High School. Ready had nine points and nine
rebounds while Campbell, who started at forward for the Hornets, had eight rebounds
and three points.
