SAVANNAH, Ga.- Tripp Walker finished in a five-way tie for sixth to pace Savannah State in the SSU Fall Invitational. Walker shot 78 in the first round and improved to a 76 in the final round to finish with a score of 154.
Willie Mack of Bethune-Cookman was the overall individual leader with a total score of 143 (68+75). While Greg Hunt of Virginia State was on his heels with a 144 (74+70).
Daniel Hanania finished tied for 26th with a 165 (82+83) for SSU followed by Peter Teifer who was 29th with a 167 (87+80), Ricky Williams who was tied for 36th with a 170 (85+85) and Craig Jarrell who finished tied for 49th with a 180 (89+91).
Virginia State was the team winner with a 622 (320+302).
Rounding out the top five were Bethune 628 (311+317), Morehouse 639 (307+332), Alabama State 640 (320+320) and Winston-Salem State 641 (324+317).
Savannah State finished 8th with a 656 (332+324), one shot behind Hampton and three shots behind Florida A&M.
