SSU Competes In Mission Inn Intercollegiate

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.- The Savannah State men's golf team placed 13th in the Mission Inn intercollegiate hosted by St. John's at the Mission Inn Resort & Club's El Campéon Golf Course.

SSU finished with a team score of 1001, even after their scores improves after each round. The Tigers shot 343 in the first round followed by a 331 in round two and 327 in the third round.

Daniel Hannia won low medalist honors for SSU with a 240 (85 +76+79) followed by Tripp Walker who shot 248 (82+83+83). Ricky Williams shot 253 (86+89+78) while Peter Teifer rounded out the SSU linksters with a 260 (90+83+97).

Hannia finished 52nd overall while Walker was 59th, Williams was 62nd and Teifer was 65th.

Florida Gulf Coast won the event with a team score of 864. Daniel Mazziotta was the overall low scorer with a 209 (68+70+71).
