HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.- The Savannah State men's golf team was led by
Tripp Walker after one round of play in the Mission Inn Intercollegiate hosted by St. John's at the Mission Inn Resort & Club's El Campéon Golf Course.
SSU is in 13th place with a score of 343 and was led by
Tripp Walker who shot 82 (38 + 44) on the first day of action.
Other schools competing includes Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman, Boston College, Florida A&M, Florida Gulf Coast, Loyola Maryland, Rollins College, Stetson, Texas-Pan American, Villanova and Western Kentucky.
Walker, who is tied for 52nd, is followed by Daniel Hannina who is tied for 60th place with a 85 (38 + 47);
Ricky Williams, who is in 62nd place, after shooting 86 (48 + 38); and Pete Teifer, who shot 90 (46 + 44) and is in 66th place.
Florida Gulf Coast is the team leader with 285 and FGC's Daniel Mazzotta is the individual leader with a 68 (35 + 33).
